Got iPad - want to play Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale?

I don't say it's easy but speaking for myself I'm willing to go some distance to be able to play my old favorites on my new favorite toy - my iPad.

The solution is called GemRB. It is an open source reimplementation of the Infinity Engine ™ which powers the original games and all the existing mods/TCs. Available ports so far: Pandora, Haiku, Maemo, ReactOS, SyllableOS, AmigaOS4.1, Android AND most important for me - iOS!

Sounds great huh? Okay, if you want to try it you'd better know what you're doing. It includes jailbreaking, transfering software via SSH, setting the right rights and some configuration and of course some original game CD's. You can read more about it here.

Happy pad-RPGing!

BTW:
1. My wife and I just finished SOZ. 18 months of weekly gaming and every single quest and little XP sucked out of it. Great gaming I'd say. Now on to MoW!

2. Our NWN2 gaming group are soon to finish Legacy of White Plume Mountain. I'd guess we have 3 quests and 2 sessions left. We have loved every single hour of it.

3. Playing L.A. Noire on the Xbox360. It's awesome! Yes!

So does this mean i could potentially play this on my iPod? Haha... I know it's crazy, but just seeing one of those games on the screen would make me giggle uncontrollably!

Thanks for the heads-up, bud!!

I'd say that you could play on a iPod with iOS 4.3x or higher. But it may stutter a bit. :)

Yeah I saw this a while back and it's pretty awesome. I didn't think the iPad was really getting any support at the moment but I've seen the videos of it so it ought to work. Good luck with it anyway!
