End game

Long time no posts!
What has happened since last time? Well, another cute kid has been born. We need a bigger house. A new job - again.

AND - yesterday my 3 person gaming group finished Baldur's Gate II - Throne of Bhaal.  Early 2012 I wrote a post about us starting BG2: http://amraphaels.blogspot.se/2012/02/back-to-amn.html. 20 months and 121 save games later we are finished. Talk about gaming value! Our goal was to play 3 hours every Tuesday and I guess we have manage to do at least 75 sessions.

What will we do now? BG, BGII, IWD, IWD2, NWN, NWN2 all expansions and all multiplayer enabled mods played. We'll take a rest over the holidays. Maybe playing some boardgames. But after that? I have no idea. Maybe we give the Neverwinter MMO a go but I'm pretty sure that we don't like it that much. Any suggestions would be very appreciated.

If you're still out there - take care!

IWD would be a great next step. Too bad you just did BG2 because the enhanced version of BG and BG2 just went on Steam sale.

Ass for a follow up there really aren't too many as good as the BG series. That was the golden age of LAN RPG.

Neverwinter MMO is fun but very linear, luckily there are a lot of decent free to play MMOs out there now.

Keep us posted.

Ref when I commented before ... I am still working on my module! Hopefully, I will get to the end next year.

As a side note, my friend and I have managed to get Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 (with both expansions) up and running in the "enhanced" mode (not the Steam version, but the community version because we have the original games), which we intend to play multi-player in the near future.

What board games are you playing at the moment? I've recently taken to Agricola...

@George: We have been throug IWD & IWD2 + HotW. Great games. I think we'll try NW MMO or maybe the old DnD Online.

@Lance: I'm looking so very much forward to play your module. An epic amount of work behind it.

@Zach: Last year at this time we played lots and lost of DnD Boardgame with the two expansions. This year we will play Eldritch Horror. I really like the co-op mechanics in it. I like Agricola. It's a really fun and smart game-

Here's one vote for rendering a Zork II game!

Hi Amraphael,

I am so glad that there are still some players left around who still look forward to playing it. I know my own group will play it, but it would be great to have others like yourself play it as well.

I am hoping it will give a reasonable play experience, but I will be happier (and feel it to be more "complete") if and when I manage to get modules 2 and 3 done as well, which I still hope to do eventually.

P.S. My wife and I are replaying NWN1 ... we started independently and so its not "coop" (a shame), but it's still good fun to compare approaches.

My friend and I are still finishing off a few other games, but BG1 and BG 2 (with all expansions and "enhanced") are now installed (and tested as working in internet coop mode) to be played in the future ... God willing. Look forward to that marathon! :)
